USDA increased their meat outlook this year for beef and pork. USDA Outlook Board Chairman Gerry Bange  says it isn't because there are more animals going to slaughter.

Gerry Bange, USDA Outlook Board Chairman; "through the line."

Beef production is about 3% less than a year ago but one-percent higher than predicted last month. USDA also increased their hog production by a couple million pounds and report hog prices have increased 4-percent from a year ago.

Even with higher prices meat sales are good and demand is high. Outlook Board Chairman Gerry Bange says the new beef production forecast calls for over 25-billion pounds, about one percent higher than last month's prediction. Bange says there that won't necessarily impact the cattle market.

Bange; "higher prices."

USDA increased their pork production forecast this month and will be 7/10ths of a percent higher than last year and hog prices up nearly 4%/
