Nebraska's U-S Senate delegation in Washington DC is split on a vote regarding the nomination of Chuck Hagel as U-S Secretary of Defense. Senator Mike Johanns plans a yes vote for Hagel but respects colleague Senator Deb Fischer's decision.

Senator Johanns says he knows Hagel probably better than anyone and believes he will strong with our allies and the men and women who wear the uniform. Johanns says he is comfortable with his decision and respects Senator Fischer's.
U-S Senator Deb Fischer plans a no vote regarding Chuck Hagel nomination as Secretary of Defense. Her Nebraska colleague Senator Mike Johanns states he is voting for the nomination for several reasons.

Senator Johanns says he is not bothered by Senator Fischer's no vote and she was elected to exercise her best judgment.
