There is a lot of support on Capitol Hill to lift the ban on female soldiers serving in active combat. Nebraska U-S Senator Mike Johanns supports the announcement made by Defense Secretary Leon Panetta.

Senator Johanns says this debate will continues as now the military has to make the case that men and women can serve in combat and other jobs while providing security and protection to our nation.


U-S Nebraska Senator Mike Johanns has an open mind when it comes to the Pentagon's decision to lift the ban on female solders in active combat.

Johanns; "will be protected."

Senator Johanns says with the proper training and background, men and women can serve together in the military and do an "outstanding job".


There will be a lot of debate after the Pentagon's announcement that men and women can serve side-by-side in active combat situations. Nebraska U-S Senator Mike Johanns gives his view.
