Opposition to Keystone Pipeline Route Reacts To Governor's Decision

A group that has opposed and fought to keep TransCanada from routing the Keystone XL oil pipeline through Nebraska is reacting to Governor Dave Heineman's letter to President Obama today saying he approved the amended route

A group that has opposed and fought to keep TransCanada from routing the Keystone XL oil pipeline through Nebraska is reacting to Governor Dave Heineman's letter to President Obama today saying he approved the amended route. Bold Nebraska Director Jane Kleeb says they were very surprised with Tuesday's announcement.

Kleeb says there is a lawsuit pending that challenges the governor's authority to site a pipeline in the state and she says a judge ruled with the citizens in the first step of that suit. She says they will continue with legal challenges and events planned protesting the pipeline.

Bold Nebraska reacts to today's announcement by Governor Dave Heineman to approve the amended Keystone XL pipeline route through Nebraska. Director Jane Kleeb says there are legal challenges in the works.

Kleeb; "in our court."

Kleeb says they will continue their fight for landowners. There are several vigils planned throughout the state and they will stay on the calendar.

Jane Kleeb is the director of Bold Nebraska and she says a lawsuit challenging the governor's authority to site a pipeline will continue She says they will continue with vigils and other events planned in the weeks ahead to protest the pipeline route.
