The governor has 30 days to decide whether to accept or reject the route.


Governor Heineman has received the final evaluation of the Keystone XL pipeline alternative route produced by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality.
NDEQ Director Mike Linder says the alternative route proposed by TransCanada does avoid the Sand Hills, a primary objective of legislation approved by the Unicameral.
The evaluation conducted by NDEQ will be used by the State Department in considering TransCanada's request for a presidential permit to proceed. . .
