LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska residents are invited to take part in an annual wellness walk at the Capitol.
The walk is scheduled for Thursday at noon on the second floor of the Nebraska Capitol. Participants include Gov. Dave Heineman, University of Nebraska Lincoln Track & Field All-American Ashley Miller and Nebraska Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joann Schaefer.
The walk is designed to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. It's part of the LiveWell Challenge Series, sponsored by the Nebraska Sports Council.
Organizers are encouraging residents to walk for 30 minutes even if they can't attend the event in person.
