Western Nebraska is set to get a new judge
ALLIANCE, Neb. (AP) - Western Nebraska is set to get a new judge.
The Scottsbluff Star-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/YCYIfn ) that the Nebraska Supreme Court is seeking applicants for a county court judgeship in the 12th judicial district.
The judgeship is being moved from Rushville to Alliance. Members of the state's Judicial Resources Commission said at a hearing earlier this month that moving the judgeship might make it more attractive to applicants. Box Butte County, which includes Alliance, has seen its caseload increase.
The commission will select two names to submit to Gov. Dave Heineman, who chooses one.
