Nebraska group carries letters to Santa on horseback

Fans of the Pony Express in Nebraska are delivering a few hundred letters to Santa Claus the old fashioned way this year.

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) - Fans of the Pony Express in Nebraska are delivering a few hundred letters to Santa Claus the old fashioned way this year.
 
     KNOP reports (http://bit.ly/Vt9EG4 ) the Nebraska division of the Pony Express recently carried more than 500 letters from Gothenburg to Cozad this year to help deliver the letters to the North Pole.
 
     Rider Wayne Gronewold says the Pony Express Nebraska group gives people in Gothenberg the chance to send their Santa letters via horseback.
 
     All the letters received a special Pony Express stamp.
 
     Another Pony Express rider Kylee Miller says she likes being part of an effort to keep the history of the Pony Express alive.
