Authorities say a 37-year-old Beatrice man has suffered several injuries after accidentally shooting himself while trying to clean his handgun.
BEATRICE, Neb. (AP) - Authorities say a 37-year-old Beatrice man has suffered several injuries after accidentally shooting himself while trying to clean his handgun.
Beatrice radio station KWBE says (http://bit.ly/R4ulMW) Michael McAtee was treated at Beatrice Community Hospital on Monday night and has been discharged.
Police Lt. Mike Oliver says McAtee was trying to clean his 9 mm handgun when it fired. The bullet went through one of McAtee's palms, wrists and thighs before embedding in a bedroom wall.
Police say two other people in the house were not injured.
