NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) - A North Platte man is in police custody after a Thanksgiving Day stabbing near a local restaurant.
KRVN-AM radio in Lexington reports (http://bit.ly/SjjPxL ) that 34-year-old Quincy Shugart was arrested Thursday, and charged with second-degree aggravated assault with a weapon.
Authorities were called to La Casa Neuva Thursday afternoon. They found a 23-year-old man inside the restaurant, suffering from lacerations to his neck and torso. Officers discovered a vehicle parked behind the restaurant with what appeared to be blood in and around the car.
Shugart was arrested a short time later. Authorities also reportedly found Shugart with a substance believed to be methamphetamine, so he may face drug charges as well.
The victim was taken to Great Plains Regional Medical Center.
