President Obama wins re-election.

All 3 Republican Incumbents in Nebraska's 3 Congressional Districts retain seats.  Third District Congressman Adrian Smith won with a commanding lead on late-coming Democratic opponent Mark Sullivan.

Republican State Senator Deb Fischer from Valentine beat former Democratic Nebraska Governor and U.S. Senator Bob Kerrey.

Amendments 1 & 2 passed with large gaps.  Amendment 1 is a constitutional amendment to provide that any misdemeanor while in pursuit of his or her office is grounds for impeachment of a civil officer.  Amendment 2 is a constitutional amendment to establish the right to hunt, to fish, and to harvest wildlife and to state that public hunting, fishing, and harvesting of wildlife shall be a preferred means of managing and controlling wildlife.

Amendments 3 & 4 failed with smaller gaps.  Amendment 3 was an amendment to change the limit on legislative terms to three consecutive terms instead of two.  Amendment 4 would have increased the salary for members of the Legislature to $25,500, up from the current $12,000.

     -Republican challenger Jeff Armour defeats Incumbent Democratic County Commissioner Rex Christensen.
     -The nearly $15 Million Ogallala School Bond got approved by the majority of voters.
     -Incumbent Kevin Block, along with Karl Elmshauser and Rodger Rankin secure seats on the Ogallala City Council

North Platte Mayor Marc Kashke was unseated by challenger Dwight Livingston

The majority of voters in Grant voted in favor of the economic development ballot question.

The majority of voters in Elsie voted in favor of the Elsie cemetery ballot question.

The majority of voters in Madrid voted in favor of the Fire Protection District property tax levy.

Nathanial Dodson and John Bleavins have secured seats on the Venango Village Board.

Al Proctor, the lone candidate, secured a seat on the Madrid Village Board.  As did write-in candidates Tim Moore and Nick Ross.

Junior Reeder and Dan Thompson secure seats on the Imperial City Council.

Colorado voters passed Amendment 64, the marijuana for recreational use amendment, which will allow for state regulation of marijuana, people 21 and older to consumer or possess limited amounts of marijuana, and allows the cultivation of marijuana.

Colorado voters passed Amendment S, which will implement certain testing methods for job applicants, restrict the number of finalists for a particular job or position, place limits on the hiring of temporary workers and require that applicants be residents of the state, all with regards to the state personnel system.

Colorado voters passed Amendment 65, which will limit campaign contributions and spending in state elections, and instructs Colorado’s Congressional delegation to propose and support, and the members of Colorado’s state legislature to ratify, an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that allows Congress and the states to limit campaign contributions and spending.

In Colorado’s 4th Congressional District, which includes Sedgwick and Phillips Counties, voters chose to retain Republican Cory Gardner as their representative.
