Western Nebraska authorities believe two men were arguing about $160 in drug money when one man fatally shot the other early Saturday.
SIDNEY, Neb. (AP) - The Sidney Sun-Telegraph reports (http://bit.ly/Xc1VBP ) that police arrested Jason William Custer on suspicion of second-degree murder several hours after the shooting. Two other people were arrested for helping Custer flee Sidney to Big Springs.
The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Officers found Adam McCormick lying in the driveway of a Sidney home with bullet wounds in his abdomen and leg when they arrived. He died later at a hospital.
Witnesses told police that McCormick had confronted another man about the drug money before the shooting.
Custer was arrested at a Big Springs motel shortly before 9 a.m. He remained jailed Sunday in lieu of $1 million bond.
