The Federal Emergency Management Agency has rejected a request from Gov. John Hickenlooper for expanded aid to uninsured and underinsured property owners who suffered losses in the High Park Fire.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Larimer County Manager Linda Hoffmann said Tuesday the federal government determined that the additional aid is not warranted.

One person died in the High Park fire, which started June 9 and destroyed 136 square miles and 259 homes west of Fort Collins.
